Janix exists because the people who built it spent decades watching great event teams fight their own tools. We decided to build the platform we always wanted.
Who's behind this
25 years producing SXSW.
Our founder, Scott Wilcox, spent 25 years at SXSW, 14 of them as CTO and then Chief Innovation Officer. He co-founded SXSW Eco. After a decade watching event teams duct-tape Eventbrite to Mailchimp to spreadsheets, he built Janix because the tool he wanted did not exist.
The rest of the team has run operations, technology, and marketing at events from 500 people to 50,000. We have sent the 4am email to a sponsor. We watched the wifi drop at check-in. Every product decision here is made by someone who has been on the other side of the door.
